How's it going FIP beauties?

New Years is the most popular time for making goals and resolutions, but back to school is another great time!! How are your goals going? Do you remember the goals you made in January?

The weather is starting to cool down and the kids are back in school, so this is the perfect time to give yourself some accountability and make your goals happen! We at the FIP headquarters had to be real with ourselves and we realized that there are some things we had stopped doing during the summer. So here are some things we did to get back on track and some tips on how to talk to the woman in your mirror, because she is the one that makes things happen!!

1. You can do anything…. you just can’t do everything, so give yourself some grace

Life happens in seasons. When you have small kids, you may not be able to devote as much time as you would like to work out. Or if you are experiencing some health problems, you may need to go through a season of healing before you get back to the gym. Life is crazy, and things don’t always go as planned!! When making goals, reaching out of your comfort zone is good, because that is where life happens. But make sure that you aren’t giving yourself a goal with an unrealistic timeline. Things happen when you believe you can, so believe in yourself!!!

2. Check in with your water intake
Are you drinking enough water? Most people don’t get enough, and over-eat because of it!! The guideline is to drink at least eight 8oz glasses a day, more if you are working out! Also, if you drink soda, make sure to drink at least that much more water because soda will dehydrate you.

3. Evaluate your eating
How is your nutrition? Do you find yourself eating out way too often? We’ve been there!! Anna is a hard core meal prepper, so she starting bringing her lunch to work again. You can also prep your breakfast if you find that your mornings are hectic like ours. A favorite is Raspberry Vanilla Refrigerator Oatmeal!!

4. How’s your exercise?
Elisha loves a routine, so after the kids went back to school, immediately her workout schedule became back on point! How is your exercise going? Have you stopped working out all together? Maybe the work out you are doing has become stale and no longer fun. Find something that you love that will make you want to keep coming back!

5. Set a time to check in again
Are you going to check back in daily, monthly, or quarterly? We find that anything more than quarterly just makes us procrastinate. Then figure out how to mark your progress. Are you going to create a chart to keep you accountable? Maybe use your fitbit to track your nutrition, steps, sleep, etc. Another great thing is writing your goal on a sticky note and leaving it on your mirror. That way, every morning when you get ready, you can see it and it will remind you to stay on track all day long!

XOXO,
Anna & Elisha
