There are times when you just don’t feel like working out, even though you told yourself you need to.
Motivation comes and goes, but discipline stays with you. Discipline is what gets you results. Discipline is choosing between what you want now and what you want most. If you still aren’t feeling it, maybe you need a bigger dream! What do you really want that you are scared to even admit to yourself? Dream a little bigger and let it fill you with hope, and don’t let the distance or the time seem too big or too scary. Be excited to be on the path! Want it so badly that you are willing to be uncomfortable and do what you don’t want to right now to get it.
Please remember that rest days and taking care of yourself when you are sick are not a step back, they are steps forward. Letting your body heal and become stronger is the whole point, so don’t overdo. Be smart in the way you zealously attack your goal!!
Here are some more thoughts from us on how we stay disciplined and motivated in our fitness!!
Elisha:
I have been a chubby girl my entire life!!! In high school I was a size 13. After having kids I was a size 16. Never in my life have I ever bought a size 2 jeans until the age of 30.
I realized that I can shape my body however I want to. I always had that power! I just never knew I did until NOW! and the fact is, is that naturally skinny girls are lucky, but girls that have to fight to be fit are STRONG!!!
So here is to you! Taking control of your body! You telling it when to stop, when to run, when to push, and to keep digging deeper. Because you are a strong beautiful woman who works her arse off to be fit and healthy and only you can stop you.
Anna:
It wasn't always easy. There were several times where I struggled, missed workouts, ate bad, but I have learned that we are all human and we all have struggles in our journeys. No one is perfect and not many have it easy. But, I know that the struggles I have endured have made me so much stronger along the way. I have learned what works for my body. What works for me may not work for you.
It's all a learning process from the beginning, to the middle and to the end of your journey. It has taken me over 7 years of hard work, sweat, and gym time to get where I am at today. I just always tried to keep my focus on transforming myself from the inside out because that's where it starts. If you can't love yourself from the inside, how can you love yourself from the outside?!
All I know is that I'm so thankful for realizing that MY health is a priority and that I started to take care of me. What wonders some exercising and clean eating can do for the soul.
This is YOUR story, you get to choose how it goes!! If you need to make changes to get where you want to go, make them! Don’t worry if the going is slower than you had hoped. Find the joy in the journey and learn to love yourself at every point. As always we and all the amazing F.i.P Beauties are here to support you!
XOXO,
Anna & Elisha
