BACK TO SCHOOL RECIPES

As the Summer comes to a close this Labor Day, we celebrate the beginning of a new season and a new school year.  While we spend time falling back into a routine, our lives tend to get a little hectic and before we know it, Summer is long gone.  But the time we spent with family doesn’t have to disappear with the start of Fall. Among work, school, soccer practices, and more, we can still find time to spend with each other, and the dinner table gives us that perfect opportunity.

Of course, our busy lives leave little time for food preparation.  Especially when trying to make wholesome, healthy food. Luckily, making a delicious meal that’s good for the family, doesn’t always require hours of labor.  With One Pot Meals, Sheet Pan Dishes, and our handy Crock Pot, dinner with family is right around the corner this school year.

ONE POT MEALS

There’s nothing better than a recipe that only requires you to throw all the ingredients in a pot.  After that, you just let it simmer until its ready to be served. That’s what we love about this Mexican Quinoa.  Quick with tasty ingredients, you’ll be serving up a new favorite in under 25 minutes! Check out Damn Delicious for this yummy and nutritious recipe!

And if you are in the mood for something a little heartier, The Ambitious Kitchen offers another quick and healthy meal cooked all in one pot.  Her Turkey Chili is filled with flavor and simple ingredients.  Not to mention, while it simmers on the stove for 45 minutes, you are free to do as you please.

SHEET PAN RECIPES

Sheet pan dinners are another perfect way to keep cooking quick, easy, and healthy.  Coat your meat and veggies in your favorite oil and seasonings, throw the pan in the oven, and you are good to go.  But if you need help with some sheet pan ideas, these classic recipes are sure to satisfy the whole family while keeping it nice and easy.

  1. Sheet Pan Steak Fajitas by The Busy BakerSimply chop, season, and bake away.  Add tortillas, salsa, guacamole, and more, to make each fajita uniquely yours. Tada!
  2. Sheet Pan Sausage and Veggies by Mom’s DinnerClassic veggies, mixed with sausage, and drizzled with homemade paprika vinaigrette.  Delicious and easy!

CROCK POT DINNERS

As we head into Fall, it’s officially crock pot season and we couldn’t be more excited!  With recipes everywhere, it seems like we could go an entire week just tossing things into the slow cooker and patiently waiting for a sweet aroma that evening to let us know dinner is ready.  And why shouldn’t we?? Crock pot meals are a wonderful time saver and ideal for busy days! Try this Chicken Tortilla Soup by A Dash of Sanity and Cooking Classy’s Slow Cooker Pot Roast for simply delicious dinners this Fall.

We know that gathering around the table isn’t always possible this time of year.  But when we can, it’s a wonderful way to reconnect and spend time with one another.  We hope you enjoy these recipes and remember that there are plenty of One Pot, Crock Pot, and Sheet Pan recipes available to simplify cooking while staying healthy.
