When was the last time you watched Legally Blonde? You probably remember this quote from Elle Woods, “Exercise gives you endorphins, endorphins makes you happy. Happy people don’t kill their husbands!”
Exercise can be difficult, especially when you are starting a new routine. It can also be intimidating to walk into a gym when you aren’t familiar with the machines. But don’t give up!!
We first started by working out at home during nap times, or even with our kids! We would go on runs when we could. We didn’t step into a gym for a long time because that is what worked best for us! Find what works best for you and your body to make you feel happy.
We’ve been there, and we can tell you that exercising is so worth it, for both your physical and mental health.
Ever heard of the Runner’s High? It’s all about the endorphins! Exercise has a lot of benefits, here are just a few:
- Reduces stress
- Sharpens memory
- Feelings of happiness
- Stimulates creation of new brain cells
- Assists in relaxation
- Improves self-discipline which can help to overcome addiction
- Improves confidence
- Lowers anxiety and depression
- Boosts energy
- Improves sleep
- Increases creativity and productivity
We all go through phases of our lives when we don’t have the time or energy to devote to exercise as much as we would like. We totally understand!! If this is you, don’t feel discouraged. Find little things that you can do every day, like parking further away to get in a few more steps.
Exercising isn’t all about trying to lose a certain number of pounds or fitting into a certain outfit. It’s a critical part of what makes your mind and body happy! It may take some time, but you will view exercise as a reward, not a chore.
Sweat on, beauties!!
